GARDEN OF ART , VALENCIA ART FAIR (SPAIN)

The city of Valencia, the third city of Spain is located in the center of the mediterranean arc which is the spanish zone of intense economic growth and activities for its developed industrial infrasfructure and comercial trading areas etc.

Once a melting pot in the past of the ancient cultures like the Romans, Fenicians, Cartagenes, during the arab domination Valencia was considered the zenith of medical technology , The city nowadays is a symbol of moderness and progress due to its avant-garde architecture like the Science Museum, the Agora complex and some of the city´s new bridges constructed by the valencian internationally famous architect Santiago Calatrava. It is also nurtured by prominent scientist like Santiago Grisolía famous for his research of the human genome and Dr. Manuel Cabadas pioneer in human body membrane transplant such as the first both leg transplant realized in the world recently a few days.

Valencia is also a cradle of many gifted artist like the world famous painter Joaquin Sorolla and sculptor Mariano Benlliure and so many other locally known but not less talented artists.

Enjoying a temperate climate the whole year round of an average 300 days of sunlight and offering a wide variety of touristic facilities of recent constructed hotels, casinos, golf courses and restaurants. etc.

The city is a suitable place in celebrating international conferences, seminars and fairs and had been proven an excellent host of the America´s cup celebrated here two times consecutively and an anual organizer of Formula 1 race on summer time.

This is why that AEDAL had come to the idea of celebrating an Art fair in the heart of the city.which is the garden of Turia river.

During 1957 when the city suffered a devastating flood due to overflowing of the Turia river, the authorities desviated the river course kilometers far from the city outskirts through a gigantic engineering project. The original river bed then which divides the city in two halves remained a dried terrain which decades later was transformed into a 9 kilometer green zone of trees, garden parks , cycling paths etc. Since then it is a busy commuted place by lots of people from different walks of life specially on holidays to spend their leisure time which is therefore a nice and ideal place for our purpose to bring art near to the public.
